3. Plastic mold makers need to introduce new breakthroughs in development bottlenecks

- As one of the pillar industries of China's light industry, the plastics industry has maintained a growth rate of more than 10% in recent years. In the plastics industry, the plastics hardware market is very active, becoming a new consumer hotspot and a new economic growth point. The plastic hardware mold market has a promising future, but it is far from the foreign technology level.
At present, China's molds need to break through the bottleneck restricting the development of the mold industry. Because with the rapid development of China's machinery, automobiles, home appliances and building materials, plastic molds account for about 30% of the entire mold industry. However, due to the complex shape of plastic mold parts, there are high requirements for their design level. Therefore, the technical level of mold test results must be innovative and keep up with the trend of the times, otherwise the development of plastic molds will be restricted.
Mold trade deficit has increased year by year
Although the growth rate of mold exports in recent years is greater than the increase in imports, the absolute increase is still greater than that of imports, resulting in a year-on-year increase in the trade deficit of molds. This situation has improved in 2006 and the deficit has decreased slightly. There are two main reasons for the increase in the foreign trade deficit of the mold: First, the sustained and rapid development of the national economy, especially the rapid development of the automobile industry has brought about a strong demand for molds. Some high-end molds cannot be produced domestically, so they have to import them; but there are some Molds can be produced domestically and imported. This is related to China's current tariff policy and project approval system. The second is not enough incentives for mold exports. Nowadays, like other electromechanical products, the export tax rebate rate is only 13%, but not as high as 17%.
From the development forecast report of China's plastic mold industry, it is understood that plastic mold manufacturers should focus on the development of large, precise, complex and long-life molds with high technical content, and vigorously develop the international market and develop export molds. With the rapid development of China's plastics industry, especially engineering plastics, it is foreseeable that the development speed of China's plastic molds will continue to be higher than the overall development speed of the mold industry, and the annual growth rate will remain at around 20% in the next few years.
